Schizophrenia support · Salem & Online
Support for everyday life.
Respect for your whole story.
Living with schizophrenia can bring challenges that affect both you and the people close to you. Calmscious offers psychotherapy support focused on understanding your experiences, daily life and personal goals.

- Be treated with dignity
- Discuss everyday challenges
- Build a clearer support plan
Does this feel familiar?
You deserve support
that sees the person.
“Everyday tasks have become harder.”
Concentration, motivation or keeping up with routines may feel difficult.
“I feel disconnected from people.”
You may need support with confidence, communication or returning to familiar activities.
“We need guidance as a family.”
Loved ones may feel uncertain about how to respond, respect independence and recognise when extra help is needed.
Schizophrenia can affect perception, thinking, motivation and daily functioning. Some people experience voices, strongly held unusual beliefs or disorganised speech. These experiences need professional assessment; a webpage or online test cannot diagnose schizophrenia.
Your way forward
Personal goals.
Practical support.
Psychotherapy support can focus on coping with day-to-day difficulties, discussing distress and working towards goals that matter to you. Family education and support may also help. The plan should reflect your current needs and existing treatment.
Individual psychotherapy support
Talk about distress, relationships and the everyday activities you want support with.
Daily life and participation
Explore routines, communication and goals connected to home, study or work.
Family education and support
With consent, help loved ones understand the condition, communicate respectfully and respond to changes.
The Calmscious Therapy Model
Centred on you.
Guided by your needs.
Developed by Dr. Mehar Nithyan, the Calmscious Therapy Model is her own psychotherapy approach. At the first session, discuss how the proposed approach relates to your experiences and goals.
You can ask about the treatment recommended, the therapist’s relevant experience and other options. Your plan is reviewed in response to your needs; outcomes and the number of sessions vary.

Questions before you begin
A little more clarity.
Can psychotherapy alone treat schizophrenia?
Schizophrenia treatment commonly includes antipsychotic medication and psychosocial support. Psychotherapy does not replace a medical assessment or prescribed treatment. Discuss medication questions with your prescribing clinician.
What if someone is hearing voices for the first time?
New voices, major changes in beliefs or thinking, or sudden deterioration need prompt medical assessment. Do not wait for a routine counselling appointment if symptoms are worsening or safety is a concern.
Can a caregiver book a conversation?
Yes. A caregiver can ask about support and appointment options. Sharing information or joining another person’s sessions is discussed in line with consent, confidentiality and relevant safety responsibilities.
Are sessions available online and in Tamil?
Calmscious offers online and in-person sessions in Salem, with Tamil and English support. Confirm the language, format and suitable therapist with the team when arranging your appointment.
What are the fees and how many sessions will I need?
Confirm the current fee, duration and what is included before you book. The number of sessions depends on assessment, your goals and progress. You can discuss options before committing to further sessions.
Your next step
A meaningful next step
starts with understanding your needs.
Ask a question, understand your options or book your first conversation.
